Arriving at the Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy Limassol
I found the academy on Demetri Liperti Street in Limassol, easy to spot with its black-and-yellow sign. As I walked up to the entrance, the place already felt welcoming. Inside, the dojo was bright and practical, carrying that quiet, focused energy you only find in a space where real training happens every day.

Arriving in Cyprus ready to train — fist raised and focused under the clear blue sky.
Looking through the large glass windows, I could already see the interior: shelves of protective gear, trophies, certificates, and training equipment ready for use. It was clear this was a dedicated space for Traditional Wing Chun and Sanda, run with care and professionalism.

Side by side with Sifu George Soleas in the dojo — friendship and shared passion for martial arts on full display.
A Warm Welcome and the Spirit of the Dojo
Inside, Sifu George greeted me with open arms and a genuine smile. We connected instantly. The photos we took that day show more than just two instructors standing together — they capture mutual respect that define the best moments in our arts.
The dojo itself reflected years of dedicated work. Certificates line the walls, trophies celebrate competitive successes, and practical equipment — gloves, pads, and the hanging bag — stands ready. Students of all ages train here, and the atmosphere is supportive rather than intimidating. It is the kind of school where beginners feel encouraged and experienced practitioners still find room to grow.
An Interesting Approach: Full-Body Warm-Up into Punching Drills
One of the most valuable takeaways for me was experiencing a different approach to preparation. Sifu George led a thorough full-body warm-up that flowed naturally into focused punching drills. His method highlighted how Traditional Wing Chun can condition the entire body while simultaneously sharpening the specific tools needed for close-range striking. Coming from a different combat system, I found it refreshing and educational — an excellent reminder that there is always another way to approach the fundamentals.
The students I trained alongside were excellent. Their focus, politeness, and willingness to work hard spoke volumes about the culture Sifu George has built. The dojo truly felt like a community rather than just a commercial gym.
More Than Techniques – Respect, Friendship, and the Willingness to Learn
It was a genuine honour to train with Sifu George. His dedication, professionalism, and welcoming spirit made the experience both memorable and inspiring. Encounters like these remind me that martial arts have no borders — they connect people through mutual respect, humility, and the pursuit of excellence.
On behalf of White Wolf Mudo Ryu, I extend my sincere gratitude to Sifu George for his hospitality and for freely sharing his knowledge. I hope this is the beginning of many more opportunities to train together, grow together, and continue building friendships within the martial arts community.

Looking Forward
Days like this reinforce why so many of us stay on the martial path long after the initial excitement of learning new techniques has passed. We stay for the people, the shared values, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing that somewhere across the sea there is another dojo, another instructor, and another group of students walking a similar road.
Thank you, Sifu George, for the warm welcome, the open training, and the example of what a true martial arts host looks like. I look forward to the next chapter of this friendship.
